SMS Issue

I was asked to create an application that receives SMS, like most TV channels have (where you can see people sending SMS all the time to these TV channels and its shown at the bottom of the screen)...

Can this be done using .net technologies??
If yes can you please give me some hints so i can start...

To my knowledge, ASP.NET might not be the best technology for that. Also, those commercials you see are getting help from Providers. If you wanted to develop something like this you would need to get in contact with the providers that you wanted to work with. I am sure they offer Web Services to affiliates. If they do provide an Xml Web Service of some type, then yes it is possible to do it with ASP.NET. However it is up to the phone providers. Don't expect them to give you the help they need for free either.

It depends actually. If the providers of the phone services offered XML Web Services, then yes it would be a good technology to invest in. Honestly I am not too sure about it because I am not sure how cellular providers offer services.
I have a friend that offer that kind of service. So, the service is toprovide your company with that SMS things. Then, he will maintain thesoftware as needed for your company.

Yes, this can be done in any dynamic technology like ASP.NET

All what you have to do is to register with SMS gateway provider and to read their docs to setup your web application.

Here, i can recommendwww.clickatell.com , i tried many providers but the best one is clickatell.
