SMTP issues!

hi guys after many hours of finally figuring out how to get SMTP mail to work and connect(well in a fashion) i am stumped!!!

i dont seem to get a reply when sending to myself? i have set the relay to trust 127.0.0.1 so i dont get the error 5.7.1 but its been a few hours and i have sent a few emails to myself/my isp account but i have yet to recieve a reply? can anyone help?

There are so many things that can go wrong on SMTP, what SMTP are you using? MS? Try to use an external one to send emails

Please let me know so I can help you better, I got code in my blog to do SMTP make sure that you use it correctly.

thanks for the reply but i have just recieved all my mail in one go! so i can only assume that there was a problem with my ISP

Normally that's the problem in SMTP, if you don't control it, you cannot tell. If the .NET System.Web.Mail does not give you an exception you assume the email is sent.
