So what is next?

After spending a year or two learning ASP, I now get to learn ASP.NET. I understand the difference and how different they are and why ASP.NET is "better". My question is, knowing how Microsoft likes to come out with new things, am I going to have to worry about a newer "ASPish" technology coming out in a few years, which I will then have to learn, or is ASP.NET pretty much here to stay for awhile.

ASP.NET 2.0 will be the "next" upgrade for asp.net apps. There are many improvements in 2.0 that build on the ASP.NET 1.0 you are learning now so you'll be fine.
